Public Rights Of Way

Work has taken place (and continues to take place) to enable access to the footpaths and bridleways throughout the Parish and the Parish Council hopes you are able to make the most of them.

Whilst you are out and about, we would encourage you to follow the Countryside Code and be mindful of the following:

  • Keep to the designated paths and bridleways: You must always stay on designated footpaths and bridleways. This protects crops and wildlife habitats.
  • Close gates behind you: Farmers rely on gates to keep animals safe. Make sure to close any gate you open.
  • Respect farm animals: Don’t feed or touch animals without permission. They can be unpredictable and need to stay healthy.
  • Control your dog: Keep dogs on a lead, especially near livestock or wildlife. Always clean up after your dog.
  • Take your litter home: There are often no bins in rural areas, so bring a bag to carry your rubbish.
  • Be mindful of noise: Loud noises can disturb animals and other visitors. Enjoy the peace and quiet.

Your actions can affect other people’s lives and livelihoods.

If you come across any issues whilst using the footpaths and bridleways, please let the Parish Council know by contacting the Clerk – clerk@bodenhamparishcouncil.gov.uk or 07940 120348.
