Bodenham and District Carers’ Group
The Group is open to anyone who cares for a relative or friend on an unpaid basis – even if that person doesn’t live with you or is in residential care. We meet on the third Monday of each month at 2pm at Siward James Community Centre, Bodenham HR1 3LS. It’s a very informal, supportive group and you don’t have to come each time – drop in and out as you can.
We sometimes have speakers who may be helpful in your caring role, sometimes just have interesting people on non-caring subjects but always a cuppa, plenty of biscuits, a good chat, mostly a good laugh. Everything is completely confidential so it’s also the opportunity to share difficulties.

Bodenham Gardening Club
The ever-popular village Gardening Club, founded over 40 years ago, currently has over 60 active members. We get together at the Parish Hall on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm.
Most meetings feature a Guest Speaker often, but not always, on gardening topic. For example, we’ve had cider, chocolate tasting and more recently a visit from Chase Distillery! Talks are followed by tea/ coffee and home-made sandwiches. There’s a “Bring and Buy” table with surplus seedlings, produce, plants and other garden related items according to the season. In addition, there’s a raffle and a monthly “Best Bloom” competition.
Points are awarded for each bloom entered and the winning member is presented with a prize at our A.G.M. in October.
Our March meeting includes a Spring Show, in May there’s a plant sale and weather permitting, the July meeting is held outdoors when members or friends welcome us to their garden to enjoy savoury snacks, a glass of wine, strawberries and cream.
Our Annual Flower and Produce Show is held separately, around mid-August, and is open to all village residents. Proceeds provided by the raffle and the sales table help to subsidise a Christmas Party in December.
Annual Membership is £12.00 per person.
