HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It’s 11th January already, but hopefully still within the
window for New Year’s good wishes.
Just a couple of updates before the next newsletter comes out:
Flicks in the Sticks
June & Ann have sadly decided to cancel the Bodenham ‘Flicks in the Sticks’ showings for January and February 2022.
This has been brought about by an extremely small audience in December and ongoing rising Covid-19 levels which we feel will keep people away.
We work with Arts Alive to put on Flicks and they sort all the film rights out, which cost the Parish Hall £103.00 for each showing – equating to 27people just to cover this cost!
Though we feel Flicks is a great community event and wish to keep supporting the initiative it is imperative that we get an audience as well.
Many thanks to those who have put in time to come along and enjoy the films and we hope to return in March.

Queenswood Arboretum
Paying for Parking at Queenswood is changing.
The is ‘Pay on Exit’ system, so people only need to go to the machines to pay when they are ready to leave. The system works on number plate recognition and calculates the parking fee
when you visit the payment machine on leaving by cash or credit card, by mobile or online. You can pay your parking fee online, up to 48 hours after your visit.
You can also register with Park with Ease and be invoiced after using a car park – simply drive in, park, leave and pay later.
The scale of fees has been changed slightly to provide a fairer spread of charges. (The 1-hour fee and all day fee remain the same at £1.50 and £4 respectively).
The machines are very easy and intuitive to use.
It is hoped that this system will mean fewer people accidently enter incorrect number plates or overstay their time – which is easy to do at a lovely site such as this. Visitors will now also be able to pay online through the Park With Ease website for up to 48 hours after their visit.”
The new equipment was installed on site before Christmas and is now fully operational.
Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum is the perfect place for a winter walk and is open to visit from dawn to dusk daily. The Visitor Centre and gift shop are open from 10.30am to 3.30pm daily, as is the Queenswood Café.
